PD Power Secondary-Side Circuit Design

Hynet HUSB series PD protocol chips fully explained: single-port 65W~240W EPR, dual-port and triple-port schemes

PD Power Secondary-Side Circuit Design:

Current AC-input PD supplies are almost all implemented as "flyback AC-DC power supply + PD protocol chip". The flyback AC-DC circuit design has been covered in a dedicated chapter; here we detail only the PD protocol chip attached to the secondary side.

The secondary side of a PD supply must fulfill three main functions: protocol communication, power allocation and output switching/protection; many vendors and models are available. Taking Shenzhen Hynet's HUSB series PD chips as an example, this chapter gives the protocol-control circuit design for the PD secondary side.
